Right, the name recognition (or lack thereof) is either a PR/promotion issue or that indefinable charismatic element a fighter needs for casuals to take notice of. Another example is Inouye. Outside of Japan, Monster Inouye is also an unknown except to real boxing fans.

Maybe in USA, nobody gives a damn about them in other places. The average person has no idea who Tank Davis or Garcia are.

Fury and AJ sell out stadiums to 90,000 people in their own country and get paid obscene money to fight in Saudi. Tank and Ryan sell about 15000 tickets between them.

Fury is globally more known than any of them.

forget about the term the 'face of boxing', maybe whats needed is the 'faces of boxing'

like a mount rushmore thing, taking the pressure and the talk off of one person

i mean people like canelo and tank actually declare themselves the face of boxing, which shouldnt even be allowed, its not a position u can appoint yourself to im sure, or is it?

So apart from the music, Garcia is basically the Ali of our generation. That's what it sounds like.

I don't see it, this is a good match up but there's absolutely no buzz for this fight, people barely know it's happening. A match up like this should create more buzz but no one cares about fat Furry, or Usyk who has no personality, great fighter but wouldn't be able to sell water to someone who's dehydrated. Maybe in the U.K there's buzz but everyone else don't really care.

You know I see these us (usa) vs them (world) arguments all the time on here which only proves my point. Boxing IS a global sport which is cheered for regionally. Soccer is a global sport which has different leagues around the world that are only followed locally by fans in that particular region. European soccer fans don't follow Asian soccer leagues just like South American soccer fans don't follow North American soccer leagues. American baseball fans don't follow Japanese or Korean baseball leagues. American basketball fans of the NBA don't follow Lithuanian or Slovenian basketball leagues. Australian rugby leagues don't follow Canadian rugby leagues. The same is true with boxing. Why can't you guys get that through your thick skulls? If we try and turn boxing into a single boxing league it is doomed to fail the entire sport guys!!!
