Why would he avoid Cloud. Cloud might cause him trouble though since Dawson is inconsistent from minute to minute in a fight and Cloud would be right there waiting for him to slip up.

There are really no stars in the 175 pound divisio, so to me he has to build his own star, and the only way he can do that without a beating a big name guy is proving his dominence time and again. Although Cloud does need to keep the pressure on him by fighting and beating up other guys (taking away other options from Dawson), if they both keep winning it will become a pretty big and be unavoidable.

I doubt Dawson thinks he is Floyd Mayweather, although if he was at the same level you might be correct.

For one, Dawson gave up a belt not to fight Cloud already. Secondly, Cloud is a younger, stronger, faster, meaner version of Glen Johnson who almost KO'd Dawson already. Stylistically Cloud is all wrong for Chad, imo.

If Dawson loses to Johnson, which I highly doubt, he should fight Johnson right away without a tune up. If Dawson beats up Johnson, which will most likely happen, he should fight Cloud for his next opponent. Imo, Pascal is still green for Dawson.

To me it is to early to say he would never fight him, he made more money with the other fights. After this fight not much is out there in the 175 pound division.

Cloud needs to continue beating ass, he can not be inactive and demand a fight. If Cloud continue on winning and Dawson keeps on winning it will be a much bigger fight down the road, to me that fight should be allowed to simmer for a while until demand is right.

Dawson to me is the superior boxer so he should be able to make that work if he learned anything from the first Dawson fight, you may be right though and Cloud is all wrong because he is consistent in his pressure while Dawson is inconsistent with his boxing.

Cloud needs to force the issue though by dominating against 175 pound opposition.

Cloud and Johnson are both agressive fighters, but that's still a bad comparison because Cloud's defense is a lot more leaky than Johnson's. Cloud has more power than Johnson.

What took place in the first fight that makes you think Dawson will beat up Johnson? If anything, it was Dawson that got beat up. He was spitting blood in the bucket round after round and Johnson had that look on his face like it was another day at the office.
