I hate to nitpick but I just read Dan Rafael's Weekend Scorecard and he wrote "It was the first solid blow from Salgado, a left hook to the chin." I know its a minor detail and that Salgado actually left hooked Linares' temple but sometimes boxing fans read his articles and assume that it is correct without watching the fight themselves. Then you start seeing things like "he got Amir Khaned" or "glass jaw". Linares' loss had nothing to do with his jaw.

I don't know its kind of alarming when a boxing writer for ESPN can't even write accurately

Dan Rafael? The same guy who called Chris John-Juan Manuel Marquez an absolute robbery then admitted later he hadn't seen the fight? That Dan?

Some are hacks all the time, some part of the time and some only a little bit of the time. Every writer is a hack at some point or another though.

I try to read the guys who I like often, when you read a writer all the time it becomes easy to pick up when they are biased or bull****ting, I find this useful when trying to figure out a situation.

I have yet to find the perfect boxing writer though~

Yet he was making fun of Chris Arreola for being out of shape. I found that pretty ironic.

Rafel is a hack and knows almost nothing about boxing.

Sometimes people use the word "chin" to describe punches to the head in general but I agree that in this case Rafael probably hasn't even seen the fight.

I've seen boxers with good "chins" go with punches to the temple. Linares did not seem to be able to recover however.
