Comments Thread For: Sam Goodman Believes He Is The Man To Spoil The Inoue Party

Twenty-five-year-old super bantamweight contender Sam Goodman flew himself to Japan to be ringside to watch Naoya Inoue vs. Luis Nery last weekend, not knowing that he would find himself in the ring following the fireworks at the Tokyo Dome.

Inoue is running out of top competition to fight. Goodman has shown that he is a good fighter but don't have that proven record. Nakatani or going up to featherweight will be his best options.

Only thing spoiled will be Goodman's unbeaten record.

Goodman is a solid boxer with good footwork, punch variations and toughness to boot. On top of that, he's been extremely busy lately, fighting four times in 2023 and once already in 2024. Having said all that, Inoue just seems like a he's on a different level so I don't know how much it will matter.
His chances of knocking out Inoue are slim to none so in reality he would have to box a perfect fight for 12 rounds.

Well, if he's having trouble going to sleep, Inoue might be a good option for him.

Hes supposed to think that. Any top ten guy who don't think they will beat the #1 guy will never be the #1 guy & likely won't be top ten for much longer.

Inoue was grinning ear to ear when he saw Goodman in the crowd.

I really like Goodman and I think he deserves a shot. But I just don't think he has the power to hurt Inoue, thus... another predictable outcome.
