Comments Thread For: How Can Jake Paul Win By Fighting Mike Tyson? He Can't

Now that Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul is a real fight, let the debates begin. Such was the mood on Monday's episode of ProBox TV's "Deep Waters," when former world champions Timothy Bradley Jr., Paulie Malignaggi and Chris Algieri discussed the decision by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to sanction Tyson-Paul as a legitimate pro bout.

Regardless of age...Iron Mike is a hard man to hurt ....let alone stop. For Paul to win he's really going to have to beat Mike up...and i think thats unlikely given how hard it is to build momentum over 2 minutes. The short rounds will favour Mike in that this is going to become a shootout and Mike has far more power than Jake who by professional boxing standards has a relatively leaky defence.

Yes Jake Paul wants the money, yes he may be trying to legitimize himself as a boxer which I don't get that argument - he's never going to be world champion and he knows it - started too late.

What this is all about is participating in your own fantasy - just be stepping in the ring with Mike Tyson - who else under 40 can say they did that? So even if he loses he can tell his kids and his grandkids that.

Mike couldn't hurt a flat footed Roy Jones several years ago. Mike also tested dirty
so I don't know how much of that power he was really born with. Now fans hope

If I could chime in on those Mike Tyson training videos they put on social media. Just like before he fought Roy Jones Jr. it was the same. They're using quick cuts and angles to make it look like he's blazing fast and full of energy. The reality is that each of those clips could have been with 5 minute rest periods in between the 5 second sprint he did to hit the pads/heavy bag. No matter how you cut it, stamina isn't as good as you age and we saw that vs Roy Jones Jr. He wasn't much like the highlight clips we were getting prior to the fight happening. I don't expect any difference here. Stamina alone can win this for Jake, but let's be real, it's a ****** as f**k fight that has zero meaning. They're both going to fill their pockets and the boxing world gains nothing from it.

Well there is financial incentive for Jake Paul to win. If tyson wins then what? he isnt fighting more hes almost 60.

If Jake wins then it will give him huge publicity, even if its negative attention, it sells tickets, people will pay to hope to see him loose next fight. Netflix is going to want to have more fights in the future, they will make more if Jake wins.

So that gives huge incentive to fix the fight.

2 minute rounds and 14 ounce gloves is barely a legitimate fight. This is all about generating money
