Low blows, especially the one's Judah got hit with, do make a a lot of difference in a fight.

Example: When a pitcher throws a ball inside, very close to the batter it's to have him thinking about the inside pitches so he can set up a strike in the outside corner. The batter would have to be protective of the inside pitches because he thinks he will get hit, and that's where the pitcher whispers a pitch through the outside corner for a strike. This usually happens when the batter has 1 strike.


No doubt in my mind, after those two low blows Judah was being more protective of the low blows rather than actually fighting. Notice his lack of using the left hand suddenly after the first low blow?

if youve seen judah fight before he usually throws less punches when the preesure builds. and with credit to judah he fought more aggresively then his norm in the latter rounds so.

Did you even watch the Clottey fight at all. He low blowed, hit behind the head and even body slamed him when clottey had the big momentum.

Dude I watch this fight and cotto never hit clottley behind the head he push clottley off his shoulders since clottley was trying to jump on him. Momentun wtf cotto had him on the ropes. So we can also say that Clottley cheats since he is always headbutting his opponents. Is the ref job to say something if he does not than the fight should continue. MANILA (Reuters) - Manny Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach will demand referees impose automatic disqualification for any deliberate low blow landed during the Filipino's challenge for Miguel Cotto's WBO welterweight title.

Puerto Rican Cotto was docked a point for low blows in his successful defence against Zab Judah in 2007, but maintained the blows had been accidental.

"Cotto stops his opponents' momentum with that kind of blow," American Roach told Monday's Philippine Daily Inquirer.

"In that Judah fight he had five low blows."

Roach said he would raise the issue at a rules meeting before the November 14 showdown in Las Vegas.

The highly anticipated bout pits Pacquiao, widely regarded the world's best pound-for-pound fighter, against Cotto, who retained his WBO title in June with a split decision over Ghana's Joshua Clottey.

I see what you mean. I meant Cotto isn't going to do it, so it won't make a difference in the fight. Strict rules or not, if Cotto doesn't do it, it won't affect the fight outcome.
