  • Fab 4 comparisons

    Who's who?

Garcia for me is a mix of Hearns and Leonard.

    I'll say...

    Teo-Duran-well rounded with power.
    Tank-Hagler-tough durable strong chin puncher.
Garcia-Hearns-p4p hardest hitter of the group but with Leonard's speed and charisma.
    Haney-Leonard-pure boxer minus Leonards power.

Obviously non of the guys are on the level of the original fab 4 atleast not yet this is just a closest comparison.

Not sure with the Tank and Hagler comparison, also Hagler is the fastest puncher no?

I agree with the other similarities.

An interesting clip comparison between Duran vs Leonard I and Garcia vs Haney.

Appearance wise, Ryan even kinda looks like a young Roberto.

Yea I see what you mean about Tank/Hagler.

I think what gives Ryan similarities with Duran too was that he kinda Chanelled his inner Duran mentality with the trash talk for this fight but his speed and and popularity scream SRL.

I think Teo and Duran are on point. Both are Latino, both lost at 135 (Kambozo/De Jesus) but still came back with career-high victories. In fact, the Taylor fight is like a modern recreation of Duran vs Ken Buchanan. Ken who was one of the only Scotsmen who fought in MGM. And Duran had his way with him lol. Only thing Teo needs now is that Crawford fight and boom we get the true modern Duran v Leonard. (dunno if he'll win though lol)

“I think that Teofimo Lopez is the closet that we’ve come in the last 30-35 years to Roberto Duran. He has that meanness, he has that bravado, he has that skill but he still has a lot to learn and a long way to go to be compared to Roberto Duran. But he’s as close as we’ve seen in a long, long time.” - Abel Sanchez

Autocorrect, I meant Hearn was the fastest puncher. Also the one who I see the most similarities with Garcia like you said.

Though he was stopped by the smaller man.

Likely not if he were to fight Crawford considering he is an average sized 140 pounder that struggles with pure boxers.

Think Lopez vs Garcia would be incredibly entertaining with Teo's agressive style and trash talk from both.

Most def would love to see Teo vs Ryan, will be fightworks. But who knows man with the Crawford fight, Teo proved us wrong twice already.

BONUS: This was when Roberto was congratulating him after the Loma fight

Teo when he's on is a beauty to watch and a monster at the same time but Ryan is the one with the equalizer definitely a great fight to make. I don't know who I'll pick in that one.

Wonder if it actually happen though, both Haney and Lopez fought in the same promotion at Top Rank and Matchroom yet never pushed the fight.

then again both Lopez and Garcia have lost their 0, and likely be skeptical on taking challenges.
