In addition to the counseling , it would be great if Mr. James could also act as a trainer and do the following :

    1) Get Ryan to use the jab , the punch that everything follows from. The most basic and fundamental punch in boxing.

    2) Get Ryan in better physical condition , so that he makes weight AND can throw more than a handful of punches per round. Ryan should have been able to get rid of Haney , but he wasn't able or willing to fight for more than thirty seconds per round. He hurt Devin every time that he hit him , he should have hit him a lot more.

    3) Make Ryan stop that ridiculous Philly Shell / Shoulder Roll Dollar Store version of his. It's crap. See Above.

    4) Bodypunching.....whatever happened to that ?

Yes , Ryan beat Haney , but aside from that , he lost pretty much every round that he didn't hurt or drop Haney in. His performance could have been much better than it was. Don't settle for less because you aren't going to be able to hurt and knock down everyone, you have to be able to win rounds in other ways.

I only saw some variation on his thrown punches , that attempt of shoulder roll still doesnt work, lets be honest , that weight difference and the fact Haney has zero pop was elemental in Ryans victory. Not sure if he'll be that lucky against a 47 pounder. We shall see.

Agree. I don't remember a fight this big or bigger where a guy came in over & got as lil criticism as Ryan has got for it.

Hell Floyd got more sh^t for making an agreement with JMM to come in over BEFORE the weigh in cuz he knew he wasn't gonna be able to make weight after a long layoff & injury. Nery's name is like a slur in Japan over him coming in over vs a guy he already KO'd while making weight. Tank & David still get sh^t by some fans today for their overages.
