Titles don't mean anything either. The better man won.

you're wrong - having to make weight is arduous - so if one fighter has to and the other doesn't then there's an advantage for one. Garcia in this case.

They should have agreed to a 143lb catch weight on signing for the fight. That said - I'm glad that Huggie lost - horrible style

Here’s the thing. Bill haneys mouth wrote an abundance of checks his sons a$$ couldn’t cash. Like…you really out here telling people “Devin retired Floyd” and dumb s$h!t like that why u think everyone is laughing. Bill brought this on himself. Kind of sucks cause it seems like Devin is a nice good respectful young man

It's only arduous if you wait until last minute. 3lbs is nothing to the 25+ they put back on for fight night.

An advantage is when the referee rules knockdowns as slips. These "writers" don't mention that part. Thought journalism was supposed to speak out lol.

          I'm done here.

Aside from the issue about the weight, the fact is it was the biggest win of the last few years, publicity wise, and Ryan is now of the few superstars.

Great credit to how he bounced back after being ko'd by Davis, who's one of boxing's best. Ironically, in that fight Garcia was the one looking drained with weight.

This one, he was comfortable, but still had to land the big hook, and he did. I don't know how Haney didn't get knocked out, but yeah, big heart and conditioning top notch.
real raw real raw likes this.

What has boxing come to? How can these cats lay claim to greatness? I know for a fact, no legitimate champion would be happy after a performance these 2 gave, they combined to throw 450 punches over 12 rds. I know not long ago some 140 lbers would throw 1,000 punches over 10-12 rds. Not these 2 ***** cats. Neither deserved to win, nor should there be a rematch!
