Dude showed he is world-class and was seconds away from being champion. Hope he recovers and comes back strong. Can be a serious player again at 126 if his knee isn't a continuing problem throughout his career.

I had the same injury playing soccer - left me a gibbering wreck writhing on the ground in agony - not sure how he continued the whole fight. Maybe the adrenaline numbed the pain - it can do that.

Makes sense he had the operation now - they won't/can't operate until the swelling eases

He can overcome this going forward by continually building his muscles around the knee to aid stability an by laying off running as much as possible - swimming better for endurance in his case

Interesting twist.
This type of injury would have 100% genuine impact on Kholmatov's ability to fight.
Mainly because he moves so much (Soviet school) on his feet and generates punch power from his legs.
