Comments Thread For: Are There Limits to Fight Promotion, Or Is It No Holds Barred (and No Lines Crossed)?

In Wednesday's episode of "Deep Waters" on ProBox TV, analysts Chris Algieri and Paulie Malignaggi debate what is fair game and what is stepping afoul of a sporting promotion, in light of the lead-up to Saturday's junior welterweight title fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garci

Depends how you roll &/or how much you respect or don't respect your opponent.

And how much you are willing to risk the check if the whole thing falls through due to going too hard with it.

The problem is ticket sales and ppv sales. Seems like they were not doing so well considering you have Fury Usyk and Beteebiev Bivol coming up. Who wants to waste their money on this fight? Haney is boring and Ryan is not good. So they had to sell it

This fight buildup has been cringey. You get the sense that Ryan isn’t right in the head.

They're trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. This fight just isn't all that. One guy is dull and the other guy just got up off the canvas, trying to copy his heros. This has ugly written all over it.

Lol definitely. Idek what talking about children getting ****d has to do with spending money to watch a fight live or on ppv.

I feel like Jake Paul is much better at this social media fight promotion. He keeps sh^t relevant &/or funny. Ryan is just sorta grasping at straws with his insane approach.
