Weird. There was no one at 168 or is he moving up?

I wish PBC would make more fights with their ridiculous roster. Morrell should be fighting Caleb, Mall or Andrade to boost up his name value for a big fight with Canelo or Benavidez next year. But instead they don't get David the Canelo fight, they don't get Morrell a fight worth a fook & at his current weight & they piss away their nearly locked up ability to sign Boots whos been down with Showtime/Espinoza for yrs by their lack of ability at keeping mfers active.

Morrell needs to leave for Matchroom too. Fook it. PBC playing too damn much.

Morrell is one of the best young talents in the sport along with Boots imo, these guys need to put themselves first and forget all this manager/network 'loyalty' bs, sign with whoever can keep you the most active.

I would have really liked to have seen Morrell put more work in and pick up a real world title at 168 before moving up. Although I understand it must be hard to stay patient and wait around especially when they're not keeping you active.

Morrell should follow in Boots footsteps and sign with Dazn

Heard about this on the TBV, and I'm not mad with this move. Morrell would be six months inactive, but it could be so much worse. A fighter must do what he must to stay active, especially a guy like Morrell who has a relatively small profile and short resume. Kalajzdic is WBC #8 and WBA #6.

On a brighter note, 175 historically is a more meaningful division than 168 of course. Beterbiev, Bivol, Morrell, Benavidez is some serious talent, they can make eachother great if they all fight

168 is literally going to become a wasteland if no sanctioning body forces Alvarez to fight the top names. Though now I am not sure if there is anyone who can beat him at this point.

As for Morrell, Great fight that helps his resume, a top 10 ranked opponent at WBC and WBO, a puncher who got a very controversial loss to another ranked fighter and was only every stopped by Beterviev in the fifth round.
At some point, fans must realize that the blame cannot be placed at Canelo's feet, or Crawford's or Spence's. Contenders not fighting isn't one fighter's fault, it's symptomatic of deeply-rooted systemic issues....and fans are always praying that one boxer will come and be the solution. Boxers are not altruistic; they're likely to abuse their power because one's career can change abruptly. In boxing, those who are bullied eventually become bullies, the heroes become villains, warriors become businessmen. We often let our desires/emotions cloud our ability to realize that history continues repeating itself. Different boxers, similar scenarios. Morrell/Ennis aren't having issues getting fights because of Canelo/Crawford. You can remove Canelo/Crawford from the equation, and the inactivity and complacency/entitlement will likely persist. We've watched boxing long enough to know that a fighter will prioritize $$$ over a title, and their teams will play games with the ranking systems in order to avoid certain fighters. Morrell becoming full WBA titlist will not drastically improve his risk:reward ratio, nor did it improve Ennis' risk:reward ratio. The boxer who is overlooked needs to get creative and take some risks, calculated or not: Haney going to Australia twice, Bam fighting Cuadras on short notice, Tszyu/Fundora on short notice, and many more.

Morrell needs to do something to get out of Benavidez's shadow because it's obvious that PBC is prioritizing one over the other. Morrell needs to work twice as hard, and be twice as committed. He has to be willing to take ANY opportunity that comes because they will be few and far between. He needs to view Kalajzdic as a mortal enemy, and destroy him. Then do the same thing again in 3 months.

He moves up to face that guy lol

Atleast Benavidez is moving up to face a former world champ.

This "mawww the top guys don't Wana fight me" attitude then he proceeds to face a bum no one knows. I predict Morrel will have a career complaining about guys not wanting to face him yet he will never take a chance against other top up n comers to earn it. He wants more accomplished guys like Benavidez and Canelo just throw him a freebie fuxxckk that dude has to put in work and this fight is not it.

But when you have biased bigots like Malignaggi saying "your the best" despite doing absolutely ****tt then you build this entitled mentality.

                    Well put.

Entitled mentality just like I said.

Hot Rod lost some brain cells against Beterbiev... He's only worthy of gatekeeping since then... Good tune up for Morrell @175 though...
