DB is on his way. I feel for him with the pressure of being the next, great Mexican monster. He's carrying a load and I don't begrudge the young man a drink.

Aware it's not a good look for a professional boxer to display a such habits at a onetime broadcast interview considering the public don't know much what's going behind the scenes and it's going to affect the perception of the fighter's dedication.

But I don't think Benavidez should be apologizing from going overboard in drinking in a day off where he is far from training camp, if it affects his performance negatively then the fault is on him and to a degree his team, it doesn't impact anyone else outside the ring in fight night.

We shall see what's the case in 75 days from here on. Of course, it's not a good thing to make it a habit for an athlete and it's not something in particular a fan wants to see considering there is a fight ahead, but it's too soon to make assumptions about him.

The only problem is with him testing positive for coke, missing weight and now this, he’ll be be perceived as an undisciplined party guy that doesn’t take his profession seriously. Justified or not, that will be the perception of some
