Lopez is learning from his boy Cotto about not ever trying to get a fight with a guy who is ranked #1 or #2 in a division and going after watered down titles (Ponce had already been beaten by Cab) instead of becoming the linear champ. At least Cotto plants his feet in one division though, and doesn't openly turn down fighters like Lopez is doing.

Lopez needs a few 12 round fights to get smarter and improve his stamina. He has what it takes to beat many fighters, but it's a science of so many factors in boxing to get it right.

So people want to see Lopez fight Caballero, but they don't want to see Cotto in with Williams. That's double standards to me. Of course Cotto's resume is way better than Lopez's and Williams didn't insult Cotto like Caballero has with Lopez. I'm not dis*****g that.

What I was pointing out is that never once have Cotto or Juan Ma made an effort to get a fight with the guy that would crown a linear champ of a division. I don't think Hatton ever wanted it with Cotto though. I'm just saying that all the top fighters like Mosley, Hopkins, De La Hoya, Mayweather, Pacquiao, JMM, and now Paul Williams have something in common. They all go after the guy that crowns a Ring champ sometime in their careers (except now with Floyd regarding Shane). This is the overall point that I was trying to make when Street Bully brought that thread up of how Arum protects his fighters these days.

Other than the fact that he may be a better head-to-head fighter (I think so), I don't see how he should be ranked over Cotto if you look at their resumes. All this **** is for another thread though. I shouldn't have even brought Cotto, Mayweather or Mosley up. This thread is about Juan Ma and Caballero.
