I already figured, based on the WBO’s previous proclamations, that if Fundora were to pursue a fight with Spence that it would at the expense of his WBO strap.

We don't think he does. We think he vacates and defends WBC against Spence instead.

Consider: if he goes the WBO route it's not just Crawford, but also Tszyu. With WBC he's not beholden to rematch Tszyu, only Spence, and Spence is coming off a dominant loss. It's meat on the table (in their eyes).

Spence shouldn't be in the picture after that beating , he most defiantly shouldn't be fighting for a world title based on that !

yeah fundora manager didnt make sense.
what drawing power could spence have after that one-sided beatdown?
personally, i know alot of spence fans who became bud fans that day
and you could see on social media the former spence fans just disliking how spence even went up there in the ring like he deserved a shot

A verbal contract is as good as written. Fundora's manager had to re-word their preferred options to keep
Tim's team from the threat of legal action and accept step aside conditions for future rematch. Fundora's
rematch salary was probably also verbally set. However with Crawford or Spence, Fundora's asking salary
will be like hitting the lottery. Fundora's manager needs to keep Tim's team under control, especially since
he will probably lose belt to either fighter.

Sampson has pulled this tactic before. If Crawford was as vulnerable as Andrade, he wouldn't hesitate to match Fundora with him.
