Don't turn your backs on these young prospects getting chin checked or temple checked

I love it that these young cats are getting some abuse. It' s a good thing, it's a character builder. And some will find out that it was a good learning experience, I don't know about Vicky Ortiz though, hehe.

First it was Khan, look where he's at now.

Early Saturday it was Linares, the guy has a ton of talent, I just think he signed with the wrong US Promoter to groom him. De La Joto doesn't know anything about winning in tough fights or bouncing back from losses, lmao what advice could he possibly give, "ugh, if it gets tough in there, just keep your guard up and run around the ring for the rest of the fight, don't worry we'll have you fighting in Texas from now on"

Now, it's JML, although he did not suffer a loss, that fight will only make him stronger.

yeah some come back much better fighters after bein knocked out or severely tested. Thats when you find out if they truly have it or not. The rest (being the majority) either end up journey men or dont come back at all!

Uhh, he destroyed MAB en route to winning a world-title!!

People can say all they want about the version of MAB he faced, but he still prepared for that fight like it was prime MAB,a MAB that has over two decades of World Championship experience!!

I agree with the thread starter.

It's also one of the many reasons why the sport of boxing is in decline.

Once an up and comer gets a loss or is knocked out they're either shot, damaged goods and overhyped. They lose their support base and the big networks aren't willing to support them.

In the old days, many of the greats had losses but they always came back. They were still loved and supported.

Manny lost early on in his career, Hopkins and many others too.

I think this whole ideology needs to change.

Look at the reaction towards Pavlik / Cotto after their losses.

I personally just enjoy boxing, whereas you get some people that will only choose to watch a certain fighter and 'nuthug' as they say; these types of people aren't good for the sport.

It's become all money and not talent. We need more tournaments, more 50/50 splits with 60/40 knockout rules and more regular division fights.

              Detroyed???

Are you ****ting me, MAB could barely see from 2 minutes into the fight because of the cut and it should have been a NC at the end of round one.

and thats a Featherweight against a Lightweight and he still didn't go down.

Kotelnik is a good but not great win, beating old man Barerra on cuts (from a headclash) is meaningless.
