One can say what they will but that cut put Tim Tszyu at a severe major disadvantage. However, I am glad to know that he is at least manning up and owning it.
After all, it was his choice to continue fighting that way. One loss won’t set this kid’s career back. Even after losing all of that blood he still neatly pulled off the victory.Leave a comment:

Just to say what everyone knows. An elbow putting that kind of gash on the top of the head is a result of a genetically freakish weirdo with elbows like blades. Never could have happened with two normal opponents. And yeah Tim would have busted him up and KO'd him if not for the buckets of blood.
Fundora is a guy that literally makes me think maybe there should be some kind of height limit in divisions apart from heavyweight, where there would be no weight or height limit. Boxing is a brutal sport where guys can die and do at times, it is not swimming, or basketball. Genetic freaks bring with them advantages into a deadly sport. And I am not blaming Fundora, the kid seems like a decent person.
Just saying that in a sport where people inflict damage on each other and can die from sustained blows, concussions, etc.....maybe there should be some limits inside weight classes when you have a dude literally a foot taller than everyone else with spider arms and razor elbows able to make weight.
I personally can barely watch Fundora. It is uncomfortable.Last edited by Theshotyoudontsee; 04-01-2024, 10:02 AM.Leave a comment:

It was a nasty cut, no doubt. The fight wasn’t stopped because of its location. Maybe it could not have been stopped. It was to the bone. However; In my opinion they were not prepared. Direct pressure is how you stop a cut. I only saw them apply the tiny q-tips to the cut. Literally, the wood of the q-tip was being pressed into the cut with a towel. Where were the larger q-tips, or gauze? Just my observation.'It was a fountain. And at no point did the cut man ever look like slowing it. Tim needs to look at a new cut man going forward'.
That was the worst cut I've seen with possible exception of Vitali Klitschko v Lennox. What do you think a cutman can do, perform plastic surgery in the minute between rounds? The cutman did great & that is why it wasn't stopped.

Tim has been humble and gracious in defeat and not made a single excuse we all know without the cut Tim stops Fundora the rematch will prove it.Originally posted by Combat Talk Radio
…what?
those are excuses. Doesn’t matter if they’re true, they’re excuses especially the second one, because before the fight he said it wouldn’t be a problem. That makes it an excuse when you say that after.
As I said elsewhere in response to someone else: when Valero got his gusher, he notched it up and basically went for broke. Tszyu could and should have taken Fundora out long before that cut. Now the narrative is that Mendoza is better than Tszyu and we know it’s not true. But that will be the narrative. Because Tszyu took his foot off the gas.

I'm a huuuuge fan of Tszyu! But if he loses the next 5 fights in a row, I won't even watch him. There's no point in him hanging around in Australia fighting has beens and taxi drivers, his future opponents reside elsewhere and they won't keep travelling to Australia, especially not while he doesn't have any belts.
Tszyu will be able to get paydays in Australia at any point in the next 15 years. He can lose his next 5 fights in a row and the Australians will still pack 60,000 into a stadium to see him face a returning Anthony Mundine.
I think he will have a decent career though, he's pretty good. Not P4P as you say, he's a bit of a flat track bully, nowhere near as refined as his father.
Still he's the best current second generation boxer by a distance imo, and solid world level.Leave a comment:

The elbow was a total accident, I think Tszyu got caught up on Fundora's feet and he actually fell into his forarm/elbow. I think Tszyu slipped a couple of times on Fundora's blood just before it happened.Leave a comment:

Umm the only reason Tszyu lost was because of the cut, did you even watch the fight?I feel bad for Wilson, he actually faced two top fighters on the road and Zarafa was fed to the dogs. Timmy was spoon fed all along. Why not feel bad for the blown up lightweights and guys who lost fights before Timmy got to them. Fundo lucked out when they didn't drag him to Oz.Leave a comment:

The only reason he lost is because of the cut. Even with the cut it was a split decision.Leave a comment:
