I would already be happy if he gets down to 240. Because he has not just gained fat, he also gained muscle. But his best weight would be about 230 pounds.

He needs to sort out his weight and up his opposition before he even thinks about a world title.

              Monte Barrett

I don't think that the fact that Barrett "lasted longer" against Valuev, Haye a nd Klitschko, should be regarded as anexample of how much better Solis is.

When Barrett fought Klitschko, he was only 29 with 1 loss, against Valuev he was 35, and against Haye 37.

That should say more about Valuev and Haye, than about Barrett.

Besides the guy was outweighed by 50 lbs, took the fight on 3 days notice, and Solis, being a Cuban, is much more advanced as a fighter than the usual 15 fight tyro. He's had, I think I read, hundreds of amateur fights.

So he's closer to "stepping up to a top 10 contender than any normal 15 fight guy.

However, if he steps to the VERY top, I think that either Klitschko could handle him comfortably enough.

              At the moment.

Vitali is unstoppable right now. I never respected the Klitschko's much i must admit before the Arreola fight but there is no denying Vitali's skill. This dude is for real.
No one can beat him...not even his glass jawed brother. He danced around the ring like ALI and hit like FOREMAN and landed more punches than MAYWEATHER did against Marquez.
I have always hated the Klitschkos style but its effective as hell.
P.S. He would beat the hell out of Lewis too if he was dumb enough to come out of retirement.

The current version of Barrett is nothing like the 2000 version. Monte had never been stopped or even knocked down in a fight before he fought Wladimir.

But in 2007, Barrett was KOed by the clubfighter Cliff Couser in round 2.
