It's a fight that I personally want to see, but Canelo isn't lying. Benavidez brings nothing to the table. It's the same money he gets for fighting nearly everyone else.

If the fight is in demand like everyone claims and so many people want to see it, then he should be paid accordingly.

yes, he should be paid accordingly, BUT not $200mil!!! correct me if i am wrong, but canelo vs GGG was in higher demand from the public back then as compared to canelo vs benavidez now, and canelo didnt even make close to $200mil for GGG so how is he gonna demand $200mil for benavidez when canelo never made that much in 1 single fight not even against floyd!!!

Honestly, I don't think the demand for Benavidez is that high unless you're a boxing fan. I really don't think casuals know who tf he is yet. He himself hasn't had enough mega fights against high profile opponents to build up his own brand. Demetrius Andrade was not a household name. Caleb Plant was not a household name. Granted Plant's profile went up slightly for facing Canelo and being stopped by him.

There is no way Canelo should command such a demand for this fight, other than thinking that he's going to retire off of it and be done with boxing after that match.
