i dont understand this type of mentality. thats the whole point of sport. to find out who the best is. staying at the top is incredibly difficult but its a hell of a lot easier if you refuse to fight the guys who could topple you. its been almost 4 years since canelo and benavidez have been 1 and 2. thats 4 super bowls, 4 nba finals, 4 world series. this is absurd. there should never be such a long stretch where a guy refuses to fight the best. and guess what if he beats that guy, he should fight the next guy that comes along! thats the whole point!

Of course not. I’m suggesting that Eddy or Canelo, whomever told the writer is lying.

“Oh no!! The guy who says he’s the best is expected to fight the best! And if he does, he’ll be expected to continue to do so as long as he claims he’s the best! How unfair.”

That would be legendary and tops a fight with Benavidez.
canelo is just cherrypicking again then because after bivol he said

Canelo Alvarez Keeps it 100 on his LOSS to Dmitry Bivol: “I think I’m the better fighter, I definitely won 8 rounds to 4”

so he wants to fight a guy he easily beat, taking the easy way out here im sure u agree

Well, at least there is an expressed interest in fighting the winner of Beterbiev vs Bivol. Which would be for all the marbles at 175 lbs. And if the Saudis pony up big money for it? Why wouldn’t Canelo want a piece of that action?

            Let’s see what happens.

Because he’s shown zero interest in wanting a challenging fight?

or because he already knows that the winner of Beterbiev/Bivol is set to fight Opetai in Saudi.

hes an effing liar. he told benavidez to beat some top guys and then benavidez #1 beat plant #2. he told ggg to get a belt and he would fight him a third time. ggg got a belt...canelo ran. hes human excrement. he is the definition of a coward. only thing that keeps is career going is the simple fact casuals are easily manipulated by marketing and dont know what is going on. its just too late.

Don’t worry, if Spence gets a W at 154, he’ll jump the line to fight Canelo next.

He fought what was supposed to be his downfall! Why should Canelo take less than $100 million to fight Benavidez? Haymon, wanted to give him $60 Million for that fight. Fk Haymon! He needs to give the face of boxing $100 million to fight what in paper looks like his toughest opponent!
Of course he’d get that money if they sell a 100$ ppv that has 4.5 million buys. That alone is 400 million dollars. Add sponsors, ads, gate, whatever else and then what happens? They make more right?

Canelo did what, 500,000 ppv x 80$ or whatever last few fights. That’s 40 mil. About his paycheck for a fight alone. I really hate going into purses and all this but have some common sense.
