Both Charlo brothers actually had that done and both said it made their eyesight feel amazing. They both went on to become world champs and they didn’t routinely wear glasses like fundora does outside the ring. So I believe there’s substance in what you are saying here.

It's obvious with how Fundora fights. Despite his size, he's always been more effective in the phone booth. That's clear evidence he's near sighted and he even said so at a presser. So he can't use his natural advantage (height/reach) effectively, all he can do is **** on the inside. That's why he was so effective against Ocampo who is an inside fighter. Once Fundora met with someone who could throw from range (Mendoza) and stopped fighting in the pocket with him, he got starched.
