Plant is a solid win, but Canelo needs a big fight now that he is close at the end of his career. Doesn't matter if he wins or loses like Benavidez/Morrell/Bivol/Beterviec, just don't want him to sit on the belts at 168 like Crawford and Spence did with the pretext that he "earned" to pick his opponents.
if he wants exhibition fights with Munguia, Mbilli and Berlanga that's okay, but he is wasting a lot of fighter's and promoter's time.

Plant's a decent win, but with this current crop of 168 pounders - he definitely loses to the top 3. Much like Canelo's other wins, none really stand the test of time. Which is why I understand why so many put him below the likes of Chavez, Morales, Sanchez, Marquez & Barrera.

Alvarez's run at 168 hasn't aged that well has it? Not that Saunders and Plant aren't good wins but they aren't exactly unbeatable.
He thought he could unify all the belts by targeting the champions at a average division and take a leap to cruiserweight against a aged Ilunga Makabu without anybody complaining. But it seems it backfired on him trying to take easy pickings after getting overwhelmed by Bivol, now the divisions have been filling out in terms of talent at 168, 175 and 200. And there isn't a solid argument for Canelo to avoid any of em.
168:
David Morrell
Christian Mbilli
Jaime Munguia
Kevin Lele Sadjo
Erik Bazinyan
Diego Pacheco
175:
Dimitrii Bivol
David Benavidez
Arthur Beterviev
200:
Jai Opetaia
Lawrence Okolie
Maris Briedis
Chris Billiam Smith
Joe Smith Jr
Gilberto Ramirez
Obviously there are other boxers that I am missing and some don't belong in the list as a threat to him, but my point is the more Canelo tries to wait to fight top opponents, the more difficult it will get for him.

For sure, least we not forget he tried to drain a 40 year old CW Badou Jack with a 20lbs catchweight to try another one of his 'pickings'. I still don't get how any of his fanbase can defend this stuff.
What I'm predicting is Munguia vs Canelo in May & Charlo vs Canelo in Sept or vice versa. Neither are terrible fights.. but both are super predictable. Munguia just beat a 36 year old retirement bound Ryder & now there's a bandwagon. I don't understand.
Has no bearing without stating the opponents class level and the form they were in at the time of a fight, age on face value means nothing.
Of course, but then you'd have to factor in legitimacy of wins as well as quality of opponent and that doesn't look too good.
Aside from that, most of the ATG'S have fought a range of younger fighters at world level - something Canelo has failed to do, which is worth pointing out. If this isn't true, name some ATG's that haven't? or fighters younger than them that were Yildirim or Plant level?
Hopkins would serve Canelo a lesson
Ask the clown that works with his re tarded way of thinking
You've been defending Canelo alot recently and criticising Benavidez every chance you get, then pretending like you're not a fan of Canelo. You got something to tell us?

Hes the WBC's cash cow. They will do anything and everything to keep the belt in his hands, including protecting him from their own mandatory.
There should be some type of regulation to put a cap on the funds the ABC orgs get from fighters, when its unlimited and based on purse percentage it creates a massive conflict of interest.
