Madueno did a great job. The referee and commentators were against him. Algieri and Malignaggi all over Pauldo´s nuts. Pauldo was the typical coward hugging too much specially after landing something. He ridiciculously ran around the ring the last round like he stole something. Finally the judges gave the decision to the right man.

      Exactly!!

Unfortunately it's usually the hugger and runner getting the nod but glad to see these judges call it fair for once.

Boxing took it on the chin in this classic boxer vs puncher tilt. Maduerno (12 ko's in 14 fights) pressed the pace with heavy shots as the light punching paulo moved and boxed beautifully. Despite Maduerno's high power punching output Paulo was able to swim without getting wet and respond with clean eye-catching counters. Maduerno's power was his key to victory and he was persistent but he was never able to even rattle Paulo, who ducked, deflected and rolled shots with his shoulders. Madeurno's frustration began to show midway and he lost a point for rabbit punching. which should have sealed the win for Paulo. But two judges had it six four for each guy. And the deciding judge had it 7-3 for Maduerno. as the commentators surmised that card was likely based on Maduerno's aggression. unfortunately there is no boxing points award for aggression. Effective aggression is the requirement often overlooked or ignored by judges. I might add that card was also the Mexican judge's card. Incompetence and bias notwithstanding, A great fight. props to Probox.

Good fight. Pauldo had some eyecatching neck-snapping-back shots, but overall Madueno was busier and aggressive. For all the KOs he has, he wasn't able to wobble Pauldo. And for all the holes in his defense, he was the better puncher last night.

Really good fight , both guys gave a good accounting of themselves . Madueno was busier and made the fight. The judges got it right.
