    "Muh escrow"

This seems to have become a popular term with forum users who think they understand the business side of boxing. Every other post in the many Canelo - Benavidez threads seems to have "muh escrow" in it.

Escrow is generally not how entire purses are held/paid - particularly with PPV events. Escrow is used for proof of funds for deposits/guarantees, not the entire purse. No one was putting $300mil in escrow for Mayweather - Pacquiao, for example.

People misusing the term are applying this logic:
    1. Unfounded speculation about contract terms.
    2. Equating projected fight revenue with a guarantee.
    3. Demanding the misconceived 'guarantee' be placed in escrow.

From what I understand the only person talking about escrow is Rick Glaser. Literally nobody else. I highly doubt its even standard in boxing for big organizations like the PBC even without show time. They are not some back yard company. I dare anyone to find any other primary source talking about escrow for boxing purses.

Yep. Not a single reputable person reported it other than Glaser but they'll still choose to take his bull**** at face value

This in microcosm explains the problem with social media more widely. Some cretin who makes all his content in a spare room can gain huge reach through the power of algorithms.

Somebody feeds a guy like Glaser something then he intentionally puts out half truths. The anti-PBC guys latch onto it and spread it around like wild fire.
