Canelo is going to fight Munguia which is a better sign for him, but it's not Benavidez. I actually think Munguia is tailor made for him. He's aggressive which Canelo can feed off with his counter punching and he's easy enough to hit.

I suppose it's the right direction for Canelo, but not exactly what the fans want to see.

Will punching harder matter though if he can't hit Canelo? It's usually speed that bothers most fighters, so Canelo picking Munguia for me is his way to somewhat shut some fans up that say he isn't fighting Mexicans, though while avoiding Benavidez whose speed and activity could be very bothersome for Canelo.

I honestly think Munguia fight could turn out similar to the James Kirkland fight. It'll take Munguia one mistake that Canelo can blast him out with a counter punch.
