  • Broadcasters and sanctioning bodies are the enablers

Look, I get it. Hearn is a smarmy loudmouth and it's tempting to go after him following farcical matchups like Berlanga - McCrory. There's nothing wrong with venting. But Hearn's gonna Hearn. He's going to talk up B and C fighters and get them big paydays. It's what he does.

The enablers are broadcasters and sanctioning bodies. A credible broadcaster committed to the future of the sport wouldn't accept matchups like this. They hold the power, they pay for the fights, they should just say: no.

A legitimate sanctioning body wouldn't sanction a final eliminator between two guys not independently ranked in the top ten. (Or have a two-tier world championship.)

Hearn is insisting Berlanga is now mandatory for Canelo rather than Morrell. Who could have given him assurances in this regard other than the WBA themselves? Why are the WBA stalling a title consolidation at 168 which has occurred in every division beside 147?

These are the technical, nuanced questions which need to be asked but never are because YouTube media is replete with inarticulate, "matey", bantering fools who just feel fortunate to be able to ask a few superficial questions.
