I am amazed that an Olympic level fighter needs to be told to go to the body more smfh. Had every opportunity to freeze her upstairs and dig that gold. Did it like 4 times in like 7 minutes of punching domination...ridiculous. She very easily could of had a finish multiple times by mixing it up cotto style.

The competition level for olympic boxing for women is a far lower bar than for male olympic boxing because there are far fewer fighters. This is why even the "champs" are not very talented.
Good for her, I respect that she went back and improved after losing her second MMA bout. She needs to stay on her feet, though. She should hire a high end Judo coach to supplement her BJJ and wrestling training. Judokas have the best takedown defense.
Shields is lucky no elbows were allowed bc that’s what her opponents did the best on the ground . I though Shields lost based on MMA scoring per round , takedowns and submission attempts along with octagon contract obviously was not counted by the other two Judges ? Either way Shields could improve and that other girl simply isn’t high level quality for a Muay Thai based fighter she gets a D based on this fight .
