Canelo just wasn't going to fight him. Gotta applaud David for not letting the idea of a potential Canelo payday slow down his career.

Canelo was never going to fight David. He only decided to become undisputed at 168 when David was stripped.
prior to that, Canelo was too small for 168

i am very disappointed. nobody at 168 and below enhances canelo's legacy except for benavidez. if somebody has money (canelo has more than he needs), the only reason to fight on is legacy. he should just retire. there's no point in continuing his career.
