This fight will be dictated if Haney's power will be able to get Ryan's attention. If it does Ryan will get out boxed, if it doesn't Ryan will force him to trade and anything can happen.MikeyMike100 likes this.

amateurs you only get 3 rounds and its usually decision wins, because going for a KO puts you at huge risk to just get countered a bunch with lower risk arm punches. so it favors a certain style and doesnt really mean much for guys fighting 5-10 years later as pros with 10 or 12 rounds.
Garcia might win some early rounds, i could see it with his speed, which for amateurs sure that wins him the fight, but he has leaky defense, Haney should have an easy night, he will be 165 pounds which negates Ryans power advantages and he will just hug him to death if he has to. I guess its not a bad fight, atleast makes haney work, not impressed with him picking guys with cement feet that are tailor made for him and acting like its a big win.MikeyMike100

Haney is really ***ed for power. 48% KO ratio and that is with him having a huge size advantage on guys. He moved up a weight class and still had what 10 pounds on his opponent ? He tried sitting down more last fight, he still has no power. Hes only 25 and cant make 140 for much longer, he will have even less power at 147 and 154. Once he gets in with a pressure/swarmer that is his actual size and has no regard for his punches he is in for a rude awakening.
For comparison, mayweather before going to 147 had a KO ratio of 68% and he was a lot smaller weight wise than haney, 15 pounds smaller at this point in their careers
Haney is lucky he is young and can cut 25 pounds. could you imagine him at 154 with a big ***er like tim tszyu who is going to walk right through him with no respect for his punches?Last edited by elfag; 02-20-2024, 10:11 AM.MikeyMike100 likes this.

If Haney was a normal rehydrated fighter fine but the fact he balloons to super middleweight is crazy imo
Any advantage Ryan had , goes out the window and I gave him minimal chance of winning
I believe his courage comes from winning those three fights as an amateur but that won’t be of any help here
Dying to hear his excuses cause God knows there’s going to be a couple

Yeah I think Ryan can win some early rounds, on paper he has advantages in speed and power, Haney has the better defense. Ryan should be able to do well on paper but I think that he will get frustrated that the win doesnt come easy, if haney falls behind on rounds he will spoil, hug him to death and ryan will get sloppy and wreckless. He quit against Tank rather than take more punishment, he dont have the heart for intense fights, he wants easy wins. If Haneys team is smart they are already strategizing on how to use his weight advantage, lots of clinching early, leaning on Garcia to tire him and slow him down for the later rounds.
Like I said in the post above I think Haney is ***ed once he cant make these lower weights, they will carefully manage his career. So much of him depends on his weight cuts, it was like Hatton once he couldnt make 140 anymore he was done because he had nothing to bother guys who were his same weight. A guy like Tim Tszyu who is used to fighting big guys with power, will feel haneys love taps and run right over him.Last edited by elfag; 02-20-2024, 10:26 AM.MikeyMike100 likes this.

And like we’ve already mentioned , his weight advantage and I’m almost sure the huggy Haney will come about sometime in the fight unless Ryan can’t handle his power
This imo , will be Ryan’s second loss and not wise matchmaking
They could of found someone else but then again Ryan getting fooled by his new best friend Floyd , kind of made that harder to be
