Hamed wasn't at his best at all. People were talking about how he was regressing as a fighter for a few years before the Barrera fight. You only need compare his style from the first stage of his career, to the middle part, to the time around the Barrera fight. No one would say with a straight face that Naz was the same fighter using the same style. he didn't have couches that understood his style properly in Oscar Suerez and Manny Steward. They tried to take an unconventional fighter and turn him into a conventional one.

Canelo did in fact duck Saunders for years and wait until he thought it was the perfect time. He had said before Callum had fought Ryder and Saunders had fought Coceres that he wasn't interested in either of them because he supposedly wasn't a SM. Roberto Duran isn't anything Mexican. His father was American born and raised. Him quitting against Leonard was due to frustration of Leonard disengaging. Duran fought everyone he should and beat many a top fighter. He's a bona fide ATG.

Barrera and Morales ducked Marquez for years the same way they ducked Prince Naseem Hamed. Barrera only fought him when he saw he wasn't the same fighter any more. The fight should have taken place around 96/97. Not 2001. Barrera fought nothing but bums for 3 years after the losses to Junior Jones.

Marquez ducked plenty of fighters. He was even Naz's mandatory for 2 years but was stripped of the position due to not taking the fight even though he was offered big money.

Mexicans before the 2000's are good with me. They fought in the way that they should. But after that, it really started to match the Americans for ducking and cheating. But what they're doing today and for the past 6 or so years is degrading. They won't fight unless their opponent is at their weakest so they can live a fantasy through perception. Just look at their opponents. Then look at all the robberies. It's extreme.
