Below are the IBF (left) and TBRB rankings (right). Crawford and Ennis are out by default. Crowley (TBRB 3), Santillan (TBRB 5), Spence (TBRB 1) are all rated above Karen and will have been approached by the IBF to participate in an eliminator and have obviously turned it down. Roiman Villa (TBRB 7) will have been offered the shot before Scarff.

Only Barrios (TBRB 4) seems to be hard done by here. Unless you're particularly invested in the careers of Cissokho, Rocha, Giyasov and Maestre?

Boots career will fall off cliff if Karen becomes mandatory again and people see a rematch where Boots couldn't cut off ring again

As I've posted many times before, I genuinely like most of the top boxers. I don't hate on many (Broner comes to mind). I prefer fighters who KO their opponents more often than not, have all-around skills, have heart, and are exciting to watch. So, I'll pull for them, especially if I like their personalities. Boots fits into that category for me. I like Spence, too. But, I've always been a Bud over Spence guy. There was just always more to his game. Right before Bud and Spence fought my buddy said he had Spence for the W, though he liked Bud a lot too. I listed the attributes each had going for him and told him Bud's reflexes and speed (hands and feet) were going to be the deciding difference. Certainly, there were a lot of other parts of Bud's game that determined the outcome (and I didn't think he'd put on that much of a beating on Spence), but I think I was correct. Of course, I'm definitely not always correct.
It’s easy to see that Boots is an extremely talented fighter
The thing that annoys me is how they jumped off the Spence bandwagon and then chitting on Bud cause they’re riding with Boots
I’m on record saying Bud would dominate Spence

Second, your last paragraph makes my point: Bud was a different fighter against Benavidez (or Gamboa etc) than he is now, after gaining all of the experience in his fights. I expect it to be the same with Boots once he gets that experience. But, make no mistake, the Bud of today crushes Karen.
Bud was 31 when he fought Pegleg. Its not like he just got defined in his last few fights once a yr since then. I don't doubt he got better mentally, but at his age he also diminished a lil physically more than likely.

The only way Bud KO2's the track star is if he sprains his ankle walking into the ring. Go back & watch that Karen fight on 2x speed or some less painful speed & you'll see that dude made Jamaine Ortiz look like Gatti. Lotsa high level mfers beat Karen as one sidedly as Boots did or maybe catch him in the 2nd half, but I don't see anyone crushing a dude THAT scared to engage.

            Calling it now:

If you watch this fight, you're going to see Chukhadzian stop Scarff and show minimal movement overall.

Scarff has NO power. He's the Paulie of the division. Karen is miles ahead of him as a fighter - and I say that as someone who's a fan of Scarff in general.

You could be right. It's hard to catch a rabbit. But Bud did catch one already:

I never even heard of Scarff before. But, if he has heart and skills like Paulie he probably won't get KO'd. I just don't want to see Karen against Boots AGAIN, basically, and aside from Karen's momma, neither does anybody else.

Karen is better than people are giving him credit for. He fought as smart as he could against a dangerous opponent and he’s fresh off a stoppage win. Scarff is nowhere near dangerous.

Absolutely no one wants to see Boots vs Karen 2.

You wanna see a fight where Boors won ALL 12 rounds again?
Perhaps you’d also like to watch Bud vs Spence because maybe Bud can’t beat Spence at 154?
Or maybe Canelo vs Ryder because Canelo struggled with Ryder?
