Alvarez is technically a promotional free agent, though it was widely reported that he entered a multi-fight agreement with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) last summer.

Would you be so kind and explain that "technicality" a little further?
Is he tied to PBC in a 3 fight deal or not?

Canelo is at the point in his career where he is an established enough ppv star that he can pretty much pick and choose who he fights.

But imo to do that he should relinquish all the titles and finish out his career with the fights he wants.

Why would it be less money for PBC? Mungia gets a pay day just like Charlo. It could even be more money for them if the revenue is much bigger for the event which is would be for Mungia rather than Charlo. You seem to forget its already happened multiple times. Garcia and tank last year?

Cause PBC gets a cut from their own fighters. Sort of how an agent gets a cut from his own actors. With a non PBC fighter the most don’t get as big a cut. Also they have to split money with Goldenboy.

What if they accept a smaller cut because the pie will be bigger with a mungia fight? Or what if they don't have a choice and Canelo has the right to choose in his contract? You are not giving a reason why the fight can't be made at all.
