i guess when i say "trouble" i basically mean "beat" in a sparring session. or is the ring iq of a professional going to over shadow what ever this in shape amateur has for his out of shape ass, and i mean not running not doing any of that hard work.

Well a top Amatuer will be beating those kinds of guys in the ring soon enough in their first few fights of a professional career so I'd say yes....

yea thats true but i should have said top professionals instead of professionals. for example an elite out of shape vs a good in shape amateur.

How out of shape do you mean, like Ricky Hatton out of shape?

Offcourse,I think Mario Kindelan would have given any SFW/LW/JWW a run for his money in a bad day.

depends on who is the amatuer and who is the pro

A tough question. I think it depends on how out of shape the pro is and how good the amateur is.

Maybe a Rigondeaux level amateur could.

                Id say yes...

The pro would probably be too winded to do anything correctly...

Also, it depends for how many rounds they go at it...

Too many variables in a situation like the one proposed on this thread.

                  anything can happen in boxing

the elite pro that is out, out of shape could finesse his technique and leverage his experience just right and land one disgustingly powerful punch on the amateur

                  Or...

The amateur could upstage the unprepared pro...

Depends who the fighter is and how out of shape they are.
