And Margarito maybe cudda got a fight if he wasn't beating cab drivers...and then when he stepped up he lost his title...

Who wanted to see it? He was getting grilled for him taking that fight. The only people who wanted to see it was Floyd fans cuz they knew it was an easy fight to win.

You can say all you want about Margarito but at WW he was better than Judah and Baldomir. And, Margarito was ranked in some point in time as the #1 WW in 2005, 2006, first 6 monhs of 2007, last 6 months of 2008,

Became a welter November 2005.
Became the offical welterweight champion in November 2006
Became the Lineal Welterweight champion in November 2006

Retired the Offical and Lineal Welterweight Champion in December 2007
Just came back to boxing in September 2009

Since then Nobody has became Lineal Champion.

Hes the big star, cash cow now,

he should be able to fight anyone and pull in the money.

Floyd's not the star that Oscar was, despite what he may say or think, and even then, it takes two to put up those really good PPV numbers.

Oscar fought guys like Sturm, Campas, Rivera, and Castillejo and wouldn't do over 400k. He'd fight Hopkins, Trinidad, and Mayweather and do a million, or in the Mayweather fight, over 2 mil. Mayweather sold in the 300s against the likes of Gatti, Baldomir, and Judah. If Mayweather looks outside of WW again for big names for big PPV numbers, there are no names.

Plenty viewed the Judah fight as him having an off night and because of his handspeed, being a southpaw, and flashy...people thought he could give Floyd problems...

And in 2006 Zab was clearly a bigger name than Margarito...and was viewed as a more interesting fight which is why it still happened...

What does Margarito do to pose a threat? Mosley and Williams outboxed him standing directly in front of him...

Margarito didn't deserve a fight with Floyd until he beat Cotto...

Being the longest reigning belt holder in the division that no other beltholder wanted to fight,

tells me he was quite deserving.

He lost to Paul,

well, you know what,

thats what happens when you face someone who can challenge you.

Same as Shane losing to Cotto, Paul losing to Quintana, Clottey losing to Margarito, etc etc.


Theres a reason why he retired just before the Tony Cotto fight,

he didn't want to face either one just as he now says he has no interest in the Cotto Pac winner.
