It's been five years since Lara fought a serious contender (Brian Castano in Marchi 2019). Hopkins finished his career fighting Shumenov, Kovalev, and Smith consecutively.

Mismatch. Just glad Danny Garcia didn't get another check he doesn't deserve.

Lara relies on reflexes and father time is undefeated.

Nobody is replicating what Hopkins done.

Perhaps Jermell Charlo and Erislandy Lara would finally meet at 160 as Charlo is already feeling accomplished in the 154 division. (No more left to prove as his fans say.) They didn't get to fight at 154 even though they both had belts. They've been with separate trainers long time ago as well.

The Hurd and Castano fights had a lot of action, and could have gone either way. I'm interested to see what he's still got. He's more of an action fighter now that he's slowed down a bit. He literally has to fight his way out of spots.

Legs are completely gone for Lara and his connect rate is only gonna get worse.

Yup. Charlas have been avoiding him for the last decade. May fight him now that hes an old man but i doubt it.

Hopkins was as rare as they come. Fighting into your fourth decade of life is seldom a good idea. Lara turns 41 in April. I hope he hasn’t been burning through his money.
