Comments Thread For: Tim Tszyu Rips Erickson Lubin: "They Start Getting Cold Feet"

The worst kept secret in boxing was Tim Tszyu's supposed next opponent. Erickson Lubin no longer walks around with a perfect record, but he's put in enough work over the years to prove that he's one of the best 154-pounders around. That was solidified once he grabbed a somewhat controversial win over Jesus Ramos Jr. a few short months ago.

Lubin is trash. He was clearly beaten by Ramos. I’m glad he didn’t get the title shot.

Let’s use some common sense here. Lubin at a very young age stepped up to face a prime charlo. Lost and then built himself back up by fighting guys like gallimore , guaya and Rosario. He fights fundora and loses a fight if the year wheee he shows tremendous heart and then comes back to fight arias and Ramos. Are we really supposed to believe he got cold feet over tyszy? Especially after he expressed surprise publicly that negotiations stopped? Something doesn’t add up.

Yep, and it was revealed by Tims manager he was in talks with Thurman for mths, saying it took lots of talks to get it done. What these guys say in public and whats going on for real are often two different things.

don't think tim vs Lubin is a ppv level fight - Thurman is a name still recognisable to the casuals so they can build a ppv off of that - probably PBC and Amazon who made decision - Lubin, go sign with GB - Oscar will pay you a bunch to fight Ortiz

A well past it injury prone Thurman having first fight at 154. No title on the line is not PPV; it will bomb badly at the box office.

Ramos really deserved the shot. I'm disappointed that Tyszu was looking at a semi-retired unrated Thurman and a recently knocked out Lubin in consideration for PPV over the STILL unbeaten Ramos. Pure money driven fked up business. If Thurman had had a good recent win at 147 I'd accept that, let alone a good win at 154.

This one has daddy's money written all over it. I'd watch Ryan v Thurman.

I just can’t see “Once Upon A Time” giving Tszyu a real challenge.
