Will Canelo use his "I DoNt wAnT tO fIgHt mExIcAnS" card excuse again now that he has nowhere to run against fellow Mexicans Munguia and Benavidez?

Mayweather was accused of waiting til Pacquiao got old to fight him (even though Mayweather himself was also older..)
Mayweather himself said he waited til it made the most money.
Whatever the reason, maybe Canelo wants to copy this scenario but the longer he waits the more disadvantaged he is. Canelo has a lot of wear and tear and his style uses a lot of energy, nothing like Mayweather.
His output has become minimal, punch selection is now limited and predictable, no combinations, hardly moves anymore and his stamina will only become less.

He has put himself in a tough spot at this point in his career as there are just no more reasons or excuses to NOT fight the top 168 contenders. I feel that if he can't get a (T)KO, I doubt he can win against hungry, young top fighters who are more mobile, throw more punches, fight at a higher pace and have better conditioning.
He is surrounded at 168 by (at least) Benavidez and Morrell and at 175 by Bivol and Beterbiev.

I don't think he is ever going to fight any of the B's at 175 again and maybe hopes Benavidez will become tired of waiting and move to 175.
He might choose Charlo and then Munguia or Mbilli (both are hittable but Mbilli has a truely incredible workrate and stamina, so Munguia probably is more likely)

      Benavidez
      Munguia
      Charlo
      Crawford

Those are the 4 names. Charlo is the easiest of the group at this point in their careers. He's been out as long as Thurman with more issues.

Benavidez and Munguia are basic but durable and Canelo isn't the KO artist people try to sell him off to be after a couple of Euros and Sweet Cheeks Plant. A lot work to get these two out or a lot of work for 12 rounds with nothing to really offer like Charlo.

Crawford super elite but 3 weight jump so how effective will his punches be. If it goes 12 can probably outbox Canelo but Canelo probably offers Haymon additional PPVs in exchange for a sure stoppage or cards win no matter what you thought you saw on the screen.

I think you are going to see Canelo pull of a Money Team scam here. He doesn't fight Mexicans just black fighters or maybe what Cabbage Patch is doing, all Mexicans, not blacks.

      As the Boxing World turns...

Munguia gets rolled by Canelo and it wont be close. Munguia has been fighting the same fight against the same quality of fighters for years now - Breadman mentioned that before the fight, which was ironic.

He's undisplined, he throws wild punches, mostly power punches, and leaves himself open all the time. If Canelo wanted to pull off a Willie Pep impersonation, this would be his best chance. He can probably dodge Munguia's wild swings for 10 rounds until Jaime is exhausted, then push him down with a fingertip and Munguia wont get up.

So called fight fans expect more from Nelo.

We not expecting more from him. He should be the one expecting more from himself. His fans are blind and he think greatness is a combination of money with the least risk involve. In a corporate world yes, in a combat sport no, if you're craving for legacy. He doesn't want to face benavidez but a least he's not giving us any excuses.

I feel like this kind of talk is only made because you desire seeing Canelo lose.

It's not about competition or good fights to watch. It is just because you desire a boxer who wins a lot and has many people talking about it, to lose. lol

In a mediocre era, a mediocre run is going to look great, but give me a little bit of time and I'll dissected for you. Remember that if you want to be like the great ones, you have to fight similar opposition than those of the past, and look good doing it. If you call fat saunders, journeyman ryder, mediocre Smith, yildrim ( another journeyman) greats, that's your prerrogativa, just don't try to push it down other people's throat.
PS. I took a quick glance at his last 10 fights, only plant, and we all know he ain't a great fighter, and bivol which I think is elite, are worthy. So out of 10 fighters the elite one beat him up, and he won against Plant, again not bad but nobody is going to confuse him with Marvin Hagler or Carmen Basilio.

Canelo won't fight Mexicans. The last thing he wants is to lose to one and the fans jump ship to the next best thing they have. He's content with making million dollar paychecks facing Euro guys that don't have a chance in hell or American opponents that just don't have the fire in them to really give it to him.

You can call Bivol Euro, but let's not forget Bivol was pretty damn bigger than Canelo and he totally imposed his size against him. The average Euro guy that is same size as Canelo doesn't have a chance in hell. I expect Canelo to rinse and repeat this formula to retirement.

If you're talking about me, my desire is for him to fight the best, the same desire I have for the boxers I follow. It's not set in stone that he's going to lose, is it not? What's clear is that if he takes on benavidez or Morell jr, ain't going to be a walk in the park like his last British tour. If you're the best fight the best.
