Comments Thread For: Pedraza Warns Keyshawn Davis: Be Careful Not To Slip on This 'Steppingstone'

Former two-division world champion Jose "Sniper" Pedraza hosted a media workout yesterday at Felix Pagan Pintor Municipal Boxing Gym in his hometown of Cidra, Puerto Rico, ahead of his 10-round battle against Keyshawn Davis on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Pedraza is shopworn and is fighting at a much higher weight that he is not effective at. His punches have no pop and he can get pushed around even with all the skills that he has.

I always liked Pedraza but his best days are behind him. Can he pull the upset? I am just hoping for a good fight!

Not a bad test for Davis. I expect that he will pass, at 9-0 it's a pretty big step up in competition.

I know many people who think Keyshawn Davis just got this, however even after the decision he still have a weed test he may fail.

I always enjoyed Sniper's style, he has fought anyone they put in front of him. Much respect. That being said, he's a bit faded at this point and the moves up in weight haven't brought much success. I wish him luck and will be rooting for him.

These are the type of in-house showcase mismatches with recycled Top Rank fighters that Bob Arum loves to make.

Are fans supposed to be happy about it, just because it’s not on PPV RJJ-94-02=GOAT ?

Pedraza is a good step up for Davis.

I'd rather see kDavis fight Muratalla, but I can't fault him for this. It's only his 11th fight as a pro. Others have been in their 20-30 fights and still fighting nobodies.
