Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez: I Know I Got A Tough Fight Ahead Of Me With Jamaine Ortiz; Not A Walkover

Teofimo Lopez is well aware of the challenges Jamaine Ortiz could present when they fight February 8 in Las Vegas. Lopez and Ortiz have history from the time when these contemporaries were accomplished amateurs. The WBO junior welterweight champion knows Ortiz has the additional motivation during training camp to avenge his points loss to Lopez nearly nine years ago in an important amateur match.

God damn right he’s got a tuff fight. That’s one thing I like about this kid. He admits Ortiz is no joke. I think that Ortiz could whip tank for sure and probably Haney, especially now he doesn’t have to dehydrate so much. I love Teo and favor him in this fight but I would t be shocked if he lost.

Teofimo is boxing’s greatest anti-hero atm. He’s obnoxious and crazy, but he’s got brass balls, believes in himself and commands respect from true fans of the sport.

Ortiz is no pushover. I became a fan of his when he gave Loma a run for his money. He's young, hungry, and has skills and grit. Not a pushover.
