Retirement money was all he was concerned about. He really thought he would lose. And no one can do anything about that.

Don't know what Herring is talking about.
Herring, at least you showed up somewhere.... because you weren't present during your fight with Shakur, lol. Just jokes.

I agree that Martin backed out of his fight with Shakur, because he was essentially offered peanuts. $1 mil is not really a lot - and that's due to what's usually left after everyone takes their share to include Uncle Sam.

I also agree that Martin needs quite a few pointers to beat Shakur. Martin is not that good. A sure loss (it will be a loss) against Stevenson will derail his career.

Aye I can take a joke. Nothing personal, I just want to help fighters. That’s all.

I’d rather see a fighter be comfortable than to worry about when their next payday will come. I don’t see why I’m criticized for helping a fellow fighter out, but keyboard warriors just love to show ignorance, I guess.
I'm glad that you're doing it . It's righteous to help others out I'm always happy to see a fighter , or any working person put more money in their pocket. You never know how long your career is going to last so you'd better take advantage of every opportunity. Sponsors also help make business contacts for after boxing. Ignore the naysayers, you're doing a good thing.

I just didn’t want to see the man sit on the bench while the division is hot, and I have great relationship with Errol so I would've sat with my bro.
Makes sense, but if Errol doesn't know how to capitalize on a hot 135 lb. division, I doubt advice will help him. Martin can literally fall out of bed and find a big fight in that division. Muratella, Davis, Pit Bull, etc.

Too many guys not qualified to promote now have promotional licenses. Errol Spence promoting fighters is like me cutting diamonds. It pains me to say this, but boxing was much better with just King and Arum. At least with King and Arum, fighters who wanted to fight were able to. Now, everyone is sitting around trying to move like Floyd or snag a Canelo lottery ticket. The sport is sad.
