If he catches the Saudis attention, I can definitely see them putting up money for him to fight Mbilli on an undercard. Is Mbilli ******?

You're criticizing Morrell Jr because he has only 10 fights, and praising plant for losing, while the Cuban is gunning for the same guy that beat him up, and definately fighting benavidez is not about money.

Does Benavidez want to prove he's the real king of the division? Then he can take the only other guy in the division who looks like he could be a threat and that Canelo has been avoiding. If Morrell wasn't a threat Canelo would have gotten that mandatory out of the way as he did with Yildirim and Ryder.
Even after Canelo is gone, Morrell is still going to be there. Do you want him to avoid Morrell for his whole career? Benavidez doesn't seem to want to fight a guy his size that he can't outmuscle.
Frankly if you don't see the advantages you've got no business talking about boxing at all.
The DISADVANTAGE is that it's a dangerous fight against an opponent who isn't a big money draw yet. It's only a bad fight if you don't think you can win, or you're just in it for the money. But he's barking about being the uncrowned King of the division. If he wants to be the king, Morrell is the current #4. Don't know why Mbilli just jumped him in the Ring ratings with a bum bashing against a really low level guy, but there it is.
If he's a nobody that isn't a threat then there's no reason not to fight him. It's only a bad idea if he's legit. Benavidez knows it. You're just not being honest with yourself. Either way, you were already dumb enough to act like you didn't understand that Canelo is the guy in the division who has mandatories. You're apparently also dumb enough not to realize that everyone wants to fight Canelo.
Your narrative of 'morrell looks like the only other threat to canelo so David should fight him' is just hot air. Fact is, Morrell has beaten literally nobody, and he is not a money fight either, so he offers nothing of substance to Benavidez to fight him. Just risk with no REAL reward. You seem to struggle to understand that. Beating a guy who passes the eye test is not REAL reward. You simply don't know how good Morrell really is yet, its impossible to be sure unless he fights someone decent. Benavidez is at a different level in his career, he has done the hard work Morrell has done nothing but he wants to fight at the top. Nope.Last edited by Oracle01; 01-20-2024, 09:41 PM.Brother Mouzone likes this.

What I'm questioning is your dismissal of Morell jr while praising plant's resume when he has lost against the two real threats he faced. That's all, and critiquing the Cuban resume when I know you're not going to find another fighter at SMW with the same opponents that those of DMJ. He's at the same junction that Plant was in 2019.

With that in consideration only a moron like you would decide to fight him.
