I thought Smith boxing was good, and? I liked the punches he was throwing.

But quite simply? Smith's power was not really causing much damage.

Smith does seem to have good power, but in terms of brute strength 'I don't think he is World level in this department'.

If Smith's brute strength was better, he could of pushed Beterbiev away or wrestled him on the inside 'Then attempted to score a few points with his jab'.

Those tactics may have helped Smith survive, the distance 'But he most likely still would been beaten up'.

Note: Overall Smith in this fight vs Beterbiev, for me fought his best fight 'On the night'. I have always though that he under performed vs Alvarez 'Which was due to being offered the fight at short notice in my opinion' etc.
In retrospect, he had no chance except a puncher's, Beterbiev is just a faster thinker, faster puncher and had better stamina.

I guess you don't know who Micharl Spinks, Archie More, Bob Foster and Ezzard Charle were. To be fair you did say in your view, but a 20 fight guy with no HOF in his resume, in my view is a little bit of a stretch.

        Still a good fighter.

he lost to Canelo and Beterbiev, which means he lost to top guys at 168 an 175. No shame.

Smith was never any good, beating a shot Groves who ruined his shoulder in the fight before don't make you the best anything.

Now his catch and counter is beautiful when and only when he gets to set his feet and he probably could've stopped Beterbiev with the aforementioned, should the opportunity of arisen.

But he was allowing Beterbiev to "touch, touch, touch" and by extension constantly causing him to reset and he had an extremely pathetic lazy jab when he choose to use it, so he had no real way to halt the onslaught.

But it's Wild that people are saying a consistent rabbit puncher who's not had many fights is ATG status.

LHW has had some of the most significant fighters in history, not only that a lot of the aforementioned fighters went on to do great things at heavy...

I don't think he's a 175 fighter, I know he is lean, maybe he could consider cruiser weight.

Remember he had a controversial win against ryder, I don't see that next level win in his resume and in reality he was shut down by those two, he didn't show he belonged in that league.

Only chance Smith had was catching Biev on the end of a huge punch. Biev used head movement and his feet and used distance perfectly to not let that happen. Biev showed great boxing skill, he isn't just a bruiser, he has great skill.

Smith got outboxed terribly. Smith looks good against bad fighters. This fight was a prime example of levels.

He is so good people want to create a rule for him that he can't throw hooks. Lol.

it was a methodical beating, clinically, carefully and patiently doled out. Artur barely broke a sweat.

John Evans "...After a successful career in which he cleaned up domestically ..." - not true at 175 - there's food on the table - Anthony Yarde, winner of Buatsi-Azeez, even Lyndon Arthur - plenty of decent money fights to be made in Britain
