  • Comments Thread For: Jason Moloney: I Felt I Did Enough in Later Rounds To Beat Saul Sanchez

Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada - Jason "Mayhem" Moloney (27-2, 19 KOs) made the first defense of his title and retained his WBO bantamweight world title with a twelve round majority decision over Saul Sanchez (20-3, 12 KOs) in a back-and-forth tussle in which the Australian's versatility made the difference.

Moloney won and with fights this hard to judge it's easy for them to become seemingly wide because the tight rounds can be given to whomever, in this case seemingly Moloney.

I don't know why he feels the need to justify his win, run it back it was fan friendly enough to see it again and close enough to warrant, unlike some of the fights that get rematches...

Meh I thought Sanchez did more than enough to take the win but he don’t got the promotional backing to get a decision. Crowds who was there knew who won Maloney isn’t very good he knew he didn’t win that’s why he’s talking about it lol

Moloney was landing the more clean and most importantly apparent punches for the judges, Sanchez was doing a lot of shoe shining and he was missing a lot and hitting forearms and hips etc etc.

And the commentary on ESPN was disgraceful calling clear low blows good bodyshots for Sanchez.

Lol I was there I’m from Montreal Maloney ain’t win. Gift decision. Everyone in the building knew it. Exactly why Maloney is on defense trying to defend the decision like I said everyone who was in the building including maloneys corner knew who won. You could hear them screaming at Maloney during the fight

Okay well w/e you say, most people on here seem to disagree about that including me.

And fans in crowds don't have anywhere near the view I have on TV or Judges have ringside so it's irrelevant what you think watching in the crowd to be honest.

Lol ok. Like I said everyone in the arena including Maloney and his team knew they lost if u heard them screaming at Maloney in the 12th u would understand. I’ll let u and all the other couch jockies who have never seen a fight live before have ur opinions tho carry on lol and they both suck anyways no one cares who won Montreal had no favourite in this fight

Well of course both teams were screaming at each other you're being quite disingenuous with your PoV here, they knew it was a close fight and it could all come down to the last round.

And of course it's hardly relevant, the division isn't quite what it was a few years ago the only fighter who's really exciting is Junto.

Footwork, and ring generalship cant be seen as accurately on TV as it can live.

I thought Moloney won that one pretty wide. Tim Bradley absolutely sucks as a commentator. Was a very good fight, and competitive, but Moloney won most of the mid to late rounds.
