I'm not one who gets particularly exercised by Hearn. He's pretty typical of a type of person one can find around London and the south-east of England who thinks owning large houses and expensive cars is the meaning of life. He revealed his intellectual limitations in his Oxford Union address which didn't develop much beyond motivational soundbites. Former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page showed much more insight and introspection during his Oxford Union speech.
What is notable is Hearn's persecution complex. Most recently he's pushing this idea that were Beterbiev one of his fighters then the world would be alight with accusation regarding a "atypical" VADA reading. Of course, like every effective propagandist, he's missing out crucial context. (1) Hearn has for years been telling us he's the best promoter in the world, so he's inviting additional scrutiny; (2) he's been prepared to die on the hill of Conor Benn who registered two "adverse" findings with VADA.
In the aforementioned Oxford Union speech he managed to shoehorn in alleged double standards when it comes to hosting events in Saudi Arabia, when it wasn't even relevant to the question. There's a complex picture in Saudi which goes beyond "sportswashing", but ultimately Hearn and the rest should admit it's beyond their understanding and they're just happy to be getting their "bag" instead of dressing it up as something noble.
