  • Comments Thread For: Three Years After Loss To Canelo, Smith Believes Beterbiev Is The 'Toughest Fight Of Me Career'

By Keith Idec - Callum Smith's lopsided points defeat to Canelo Alvarez in December 2020 remains the lone loss of the former WBA super middleweight champion's career. Mexico's Alvarez - a four-division champion and perhaps boxing's best, pound-for-pound, at that time - won 11 of 12 rounds on two scorecards three years ago at Alamodome in San Antonio. Liverpool's Smith lost by scores of 119-109 (Rafael Ramos), 119-109 (Steve Weisfeld) and 117-111 (Steve Morrow).

Why do many English people use "me" instead of "my"?

Man, you were running scared from a blown up super welterweight. Artur will beat you half to death.

i said parker had no chance against wilder so put your money on the opposite of what i say but i dont give smith much of a chance, he was so so bad in that canelo fight i dont think he has the dog in him to get hit hard against beterbiev and keep pushing forward, he might start off well though

only the ******ed ones/scousers do, anyone talking like that in a professional setting would look ridiculous

It’s a scouse colloquialism. I think other Northerners do it as well, it’s very common where I live. I do it myself tbf.

Smith seems like a stand up guy and a man willing to fight. I also like he has been respectful of what Beterbiev has accomplished. But this feels like a bad situation all the way around for him. A 16-month vacation in-between fights and your jumping straight into the most devastating finisher in boxing. Not sure his team actually likes him. Sure, Beterbiev has had a long time between fights as well, but that seems to work to the advantage of a near 40 year old who relies on power to win. Smith honestly does look more healthy and way more powerful at LHW than he did at 168, but this is Beterbiev's world and all other LHW are just living in it.

It's "my" not "me", you idiots. Learn to speak English properly.
