I'm just listing to some information on the fight here, and I thought I would share with fellow forum members some things that I have just learned about. It's buried within the video that I will link, but this is straight from Timothy Bradley's mouth.
So first point is this:
At the fighter meeting, Beterbiev never showed up. He didn't want to have to answer any questions about Eddie Hearn's allegations or explain the "atypical" finding that VADA stated in its report. That tells me that he's pretty upset about the allegations. That could be terrible news for Callum Smith or it could be good news and Beterbiev fights in a way that Smith can take advantage. Personally, I think this is bad news for Smith. Beterbeiv is angry.
Second point is this:
Callum Smith and Buddy McGirt's plan is not to box and stay on the outside. They are going to attack "fire with fire." They will be going at Beterbiev, trying to push him back. That sounds like a terrible plan in my opinion.
Third point is this:
The ring is 18 x 18, which is the smallest allowable ring size you can have. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's as small as rings can be in a professional fight.) So Smith is going to have no where to really move around to. It's going to be a phone booth fight. Ultimately this means that Smith is going to be in the one place he doesn't want to be, which is up against the ropes. Smith is going to be on the ropes by the third or fourth round.
Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know what's going on, especially if you're betting on this fight. Personally, I might change my pick for a mid fight KO to an early KO for Beterbiev. Smith is literally going to be in front of Beterbiev all fight long and a good portion of that time will be on the ropes. IMO, it's over for Smith. He doesn't have a chance.
