That De La Hoya offer changed Pacquiao's career. He's now going to be fighting, at the very worst, the second best WW in the world. Hatton may not be all we thought he was, but he was the 140 champ and Pacquiao put him in a coma. Even if he loses to Cotto, he'll get my respect for taking the toughest challenges. He didn't know Oscar was shot and would be weight drained. He takes on challenges and always seems to rise to the occasion.Comment

or how roach's Parkinson's shaking puts manny in a trance to see how the fight will turn out before he steps into the ring.....
all in all. manny got it locked he's got a personal psychic that tells him 1lb will drain cotto.

I was one of those that criticized the Diaz fight and questioned him for not fighting other better names there.
But in retrospect its clear he never intended to stay there anyway, but more importantly, all the **** Pac got for that and for the silly notion put out by Nate Campbell that he "ducks" black fighters is all erased because he is taking on Miguel Cotto.
Cotto is tougher than any LW he was accused of ducking and better and badder than any black fighter that he allegedly ducked.
Win or lose against Cotto, he's showing balls of steel for taking this fight. I can't help but give him props for taking this fight.
Plus, as I've said before, it really tells you a lot when a guy who was at 130 a year ago is fighting Cotto before Floyd.
Not only this but Larry, Pac gets a pass because he gives the fans what they want whereas its clear Floyd only cares about himself.
Thats why pac has respect universally and Floyd has a small minority of annoying fans.
Both boxing writers and fans all agree that Cotto has not been the same since the Margarito fight, so how can you say Pac has "balls of steel" for fighting a guy that many people believe has started going downhill? Which fans are you referring to that wanted to see him fight David Diaz? And if they wanted to see him fight David Diaz, why did that fight only draw 150,000 on PPV. If Pac is universally respected and Floyd has a small minority of fans, why did the Pac/Oscar fight draw 1 million fewer fans, the Pac/Hatton fight draw 50,000 fewer fans and the Pac/Marquez fight draw 550,000 fewer fans?
Nothing you said in this post has any credibility.Last edited by big_james10; 10-08-2009, 10:38 PM.Comment
