Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev On David Benavidez Possibly Moving Up: "If He Wants This Fight, No Problem"

Canelo Alvarez hasn't given David Benavidez the green light just yet. The 26-year-old currently has his ringer on high with the hopes of the pound-for-pound star giving him a crack at his undisputed super middleweight throne.

Beterbiev is ready for the taking. I wouldn't be shocked if smith pulls of the upset and I definitely think benevidez would beat him. I actually think that is the fight canelo should go and make and that would be a heck of a win for him at 175.

I'd definitely pay to see it... Imagine Canelo continuing to avoid him and then Benavidez going up and beating both Bivol and Beterbiev... He'd really be the Mexican Monster...

It reminds me of when Froch was calling out Calzaghe years ago. The fight didn't happen so Froch went and carved out his own career and legacy. You can't obsess over and rely on one specific fight. I think Benavidez is starting to understand that now. He has mentioned fighting Morell and/or moving to 175.

Gun to my head i would pick beterbiev. But the betting line opened with smith at only +235. I personally expected it to be way higher than that which suggests vegas thinks smith has a decent chance. I was hoping for like +600 and I would have absolutely bet that.

Him and Morrell is actually the fight I'd prefer to have made next...
