Wilder is older, inactive, and wealthy. Not sure that a renewed focus or killer instinct can overcome those aspects at this point.

I don't get why everyone wants him to retire. If I remember correctly AJ got knocked out by a fat Mexican guy and had to hideout in NYC for a week because he was scared to go home and face the music. He then fought the same guy who was 400lbs heavier and barely got his lock back. Then he proceeded to get embarrassed twice by a cruiserweight. And yet none of AJs fans are calling for him to retire.

Because he’s finished, Wilder’s fans know the American public is done with him and no amount of “comebacks” will get him to where he just was. Dec 23rd was win or get the h€££ out and of course he decided to get out.
