They are both spastic slappers.

decision machines and very difficult to beat due to their speed advantage. Bivol also has an added layer of defense that slappy Joe didn’t have. Slappy was a bit more aggressive as well

Bivol does not slap with his punches at all.

Bivol punches straight, with snap. He doesn’t knock many guys out because he seems to hold back and work the opponent all over the ring.

he’s content to get a decision by breaking opponents down but I think he probably has a bit more power in reserve if he’s ever in trouble.
